As Singapore's spa and wellness industry is rapidly growing, the need for an association that reaches out to all the sectors of the market resulted in the formation of Spa & Wellness Association (Singapore) – SWAS.
The association actively promotes the integration between the spa/beauty industry and the wellness market. It brings together everybody who have a keen interest in this market and thus represents the total health and wellbeing industry.
SWAS firmly believes that well-trained therapists are the backbone of the industry and that customer satisfaction means repeat business. Like no other association, SWAS embraces the grassroots and creates opportunities for its members. Its key focuses stand on four pillars of success:
- raising standards to nurture stronger businesses and better client service
- education of its members to fill a void and offer career or business opportunities
- create a platform for industry players to share their knowledge and grow business
- be an access point to industry/market research and gateway into government bodies and other associations.

Membership types
No Joining Fees, Low Annual Dues. Our aim is to keep membership affordable and open to everyone. All memberships are valid for one year from 1 April – 31 March. If you join us mid-term, your membership fees will be pro-rated for your first year. All members are not transferable or refundable. Membership Fees are due on 1 April every year. There are three types of membership:
Associate Corporate Membership (S$300 per annum):
- Corporate organisations working in the Spa & Wellness Industry
- Two individuals representing
- No Voting rights
Professional Corporate Membership (S$360 per annum):
- Corporate organisations working in the Spa & Wellness Industry
- Two individuals representing
- Voting rights (Has one vote)
This category membership is for businesses or companies engaged in operating spa and wellness services. The company may nominate two representatives.
Professional Individual Membership (S$180 per annum):
- Those working in the Spa & Wellness industry
- Voting rights
This category membership is for all staff already working in the industry, i.e. Spa/Wellness Operators, Spa Directors, Spa Managers, Spa Consultants, Trainers, Medical Doctors, Health Practitioners, Certified Spa/Massage/Beauty Therapists, Bodyworkers, Yoga & Fitness Professionals
Associate Membership (S$120 per annum):
- Those in businesses associated to the Spa & Wellness industry
This category membership is for Students, Product & Equipment Suppliers, Salon/Business owners who aspire to be Spa Operators, Spa Designers, Media, Hoteliers, Government and Tourism services sector, and those with an interest in the industry, but not directly involved in delivering spa and wellness services to consumers.
