Complementary Therapy

The definition of Complementary Therapy is a treatment that may be used alongside, hence complement standard medical care and other health enhancement treatments to enhance wellness. Complementary therapists include those practicing one or multiple (holistic) approach and may include physical, mental, spiritual and dietary practices.

How Complementary Therapy works

Most modalities in Complementary Treatments work towards reducing stress and tension, improving the immune system, promoting circulation, eliminating wastes and toxins, alleviating aches and pain, generally enhancing physical and mental conditions, fitness and well-being.

The Wellness Industry

The term Wellness is generally used to describe a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit that results in an overall feeling and sign of well-being. The World Health Organization defines Wellness as “ … a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

The Wellness Industry covers all business entities and stakeholders that embrace a product, service, method or process to promote the awareness, practice, development or enhancement of a healthy and fulfilling life.
